Swedish producer sir Was has teamed up with Casper Clausen, lead vocalist of the experimental band Efterklang to create ‘Flyder’. The track circles a few key, distinctive elements: crisp, warm live drums; airy, sustained synths; and the perfect vocal, sung in Clausen’s native Danish. These vocals, Clausen explains, touch on the idea that “when you manage to let go on your own power of control, when you are floating and staying at the same time.” The pair haven’t been writing music together for long, but their partnership has been fruitful and complimentary, with sir Was’ textured production allowing room for Clausen’s vocal to run away with a track. - Dan Peeke
